Phase 2 -  Conceptualize

The CONCEPTUALIZE phase serves the purposes of identifying, investigating and assessing distinct technology-driven solution concept alternatives to the business needs identified during the prior phase.

The CONCEPTUALIZE phase is a step to create alternate solution concepts, rapidly assess them, discard some components and extract others. This phase uses quick, no-risk techniques that combine phase 1’s foundation data with solution brainstorming, design, and prototyping to speed the solution generation process. The most compelling business issues drive the further refinement of the alternatives.

This project phase is supported through an appropriate mix of solution concept-focused team work sessions, technology vendor demonstrations, site visits/interviews, and the rapid configuring of alternate design concepts ranging from simple HTML mockups to operational prototypes.

During the CONCEPTUALIZE phase, Ajillus staff is also responding to the project direction and testing tools and hardware technologies to ensure they contain the necessary functionality, design and robustness for meeting project demands. Completion of this phase supports a final solution selection based on actual data analysis, hands-on technical assessment, and quantified business results and identification of any possible technical risks. This phase typically takes between two and four weeks.

The CONCEPTUALIZE phase completes with the business strategy-based, consensus-supported, joint analysis and selection of the optimal solution mix. Output of this phase is a specific business solution whose detailed design and configuration are developed in the next phase.
